In an incident that has sent shock waves through the global music industry and put the experts into a tail-spin, a youth in the lonely town of Bungendore, NSW, is claiming a world first - the only person to have remained awake during a Pete Murray song.

"I am not saying I did it deliberately," the young woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said. "Fact is, just as I was dozing off a bee stung me on the nose and what with the pain and getting ice and all, before I had realised it the song was over."

Pete Murray welcomed the news saying now at least he would have someone to vindicate his claims that his songs did not all sound the same.

"Now that someone can stay awake through my songs I'll get ask them to listen to a couple just to prove that the words are different."

The young woman is understood to be unlikely to accept the offer saying, "Id rather be like the bee - dead."
